Mathare Environmental Conservation Youth Group
We are youth leaders who practice youth-to-child and peer-to-peer education and counseling for the entire community.
Help Mathare Environmental expand their youth-to-child Resource and Learning Centre. The group offers counseling, tutoring and social support to orphans and vulnerable children in their neighborhood, pairing the children with youth group members for one-on-one assistance and guidance in after-school activities. This service is offered to the community free-of-charge. Mathare Environmental is seeking donations to purchase books, school supplies, a computer, CD-ROM and DVD learning materials, and chairs and tables.

In this video, one of our younger members, Cristabel Wangari performs a poem about a girl's right to education. There is also a montage of images of youth and children in the Nairobi slums set to music performed by MYTO members on their home-made instruments.
