We are excited and delighted to be launching Mobile Movement next week. Thank you for believing in the power of working together - and most importantly thank you for being wonderful leaders in your community. You are setting an example for us all.
Can you explain a bit more bout where you currently get your water? I can see the containers...how far do you have to carry them?
Are there any wells, or can you only purchase potable water?
Would be great to see more photos...and find out more about the project!

Hi jess.i received your mail.its very encauraging to have a team partner whom its aim is to help the group share it challages, dreams and development with the rest of the world.our group is doing well, just recently we implemented community water project thore in small scale, the demand for water is very high becose we are serving a larger community. Means we stil need to improve,we got a parmit from water company to pump water direct from thair pipes thore it is not sufficient becose water comes in retioning schedule, which means if you dont have storage facility you wil not have water supply for some days, water tanks here are more than important,i wil send some photo later tommorow, good bye.
Hello Eastlanders! am very impressed with your struggle to offer such an essential servic e to your community. I live next door to your neighboorhood and i experience non existent water supply services, water pipes replacement going on forever since January! you community must be ery glad about having such a vibrant and responsible youth group like yours.Go on,serve your community, Keep up th good Job. Patrick.
This sounds like a wonderful project. Safe water is an essential need in every community.
It sounds like your water is only available through the water company and therefore you need a large water tank to safely hold the water for resale to the residents of Jericho... is that right?
Will your project allow residents to buy smaller units and pay less for safe water than the water company offers?
Where does the 'water company' get there water from? Is there any option for a Well water?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Peace and light, Dani

Hello Danielle, Thank you for your questions! you are right, we need a large water tank for storage. First the piping system is pathetic. it does not delkiver water to the houses. Two the supply from the water company is erratic, thus water runs out uneexpectedly throwing people into chaos. We cannot dig a well because the city council of Nairobi owns not only the land but also the water underneath. Plus we need special permit from the ministry of Natural resources and environment. Also the water is hard, not suitable for drinking nor doing laundry. So while having a well would be ideal, it requires lots of investments that we cannot marshall now. That leaves a huge water tank as the second best option. we are not trying to replace Nairobi water company as the service provider but we want to come in to fill the many gaping gaps. If we hae our way, we would like to hae a licensed water ending point and tanks to act as strategic reserves when their is no water at all, like now. people are paying 60 ksh for 20 litre jerican. This is almost 1USD, and its a furtune. so we want to guarentee water availabilty to our community through this project, and safe water at that but we will not charge less than the water company. I hope this answers most of your questions. you are welcome to ask lots more. Thank you, and thank mobile movement for facilitating this dialogue!
Hi Eastlanders, This is Lisa from Vancouver. I run a hair dressing business called Storm Salon and we had a fundraiser with all our clients to support your projects. Water is a key to life - a basic human need and there is no reason that you and your community shouldn't have access to water. I applaud what you're doing and am grateful for your leadership.
